President-elect Donald Trump has indicated plans to dismantle federal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives upon taking office. This strategy includes rescinding executive orders that support DEI, implementing new directives favoring merit-based, colorblind equality, and terminating DEI programs and officials across federal departments. ​​

A key figure in this effort is Harmeet Dhillon, nominated to lead the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division. Dhillon is known for opposing "woke policies" and is expected to challenge DEI practices in companies and universities, arguing they violate anti-discrimination laws. ​​

Additionally, Brendan Carr, selected to chair the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), has stated that the agency will cease promoting DEI in 2025. The FCC's current budget lists DEI promotion as its second-highest strategic goal, which Carr intends to eliminate. ​​D

These actions are part of a broader agenda to reverse DEI policies within federal agencies and influence private sector practices, aiming to establish a more race-neutral regulatory environment. ​​
