The Aborted

The Aborted The character is aging in her late 70s. She is retired from being a public defender and a judge. The pass is echoing and surfacing. When she was in high school she had an abortion.   She was a high achiver in High School, a good girl. Her mother did not want to see her daughter 's reputation tarnished. Her boyfriend 's mother was a nurse and assisted in helping with the abortion. [They pace the stage, their words echoing in the silence.] CHARACTER: Yet, in our interconnectedness lies a delicate ba...

Figure: We are creatures of light, woven from the same luminous thread that binds the stars. But unlike those distant suns, our brilliance burns within, a spark of the divine entrusted to our care. We are social beings, wired for connection, for the exchange of this inner light. (The figure gestures outwards, then brings their hands close, fingertips nearly touching.) This is no mere flicker, mind you. The light we carr...
